700AD – Tiamat rises

After just over 200 years, an earthquake shakes the realm, with it’s epicentre in the Howling Peaks. 4 volcanoes errupt, and a leaf of Yggdrasil wilts. These signs mean that Tiamat has risen from her slumber. And as 4 more leaves fall, it’s clear they are furious.

Upon learning of the metallic dragons betrayal, they are angry, and plan on slaughtering the lot of them, a regular reaction for Tiamat. But this wasn’t the biggest source of their anger. When they learnt that Bahamut had not just gotten married, but had a child with a mortal, their blood boiled with hatred and betrayal. It’s said the roar she produced could be heard in other realms, even cutting through the howling winds of pandemonium.

For the first time in her life, Tiamat felt hurt. Though she slaughtered everyone in the room with her at the time in a fit of rage, it is suspected that Tiamat may have even cried.

They justified this fury as not being about their love for Bahamut, but about them sullying their godly blood with that of the weakest mortal in the realm. Bahamut must’ve known about Tiamat’s feelings for her, so Tiamat couldn’t see this as anything but an insult. And nobody insults a god.

What would follow Tiamat’s rising, would be the time of the greatest violence, destruction and pain in the entire history of the realm, possibly in all realms.
