Tiamat, along with most Ancient or older dragons, lies dormant for years at a time. But while most ancient dragons sleep for a few generations at a time, in order to give Tiamat’s body time to heal from the constant weight and power it’s under, Tiamat sleeps for up to 200 years at a time. Entire empires will rise and fall without believing Tiamat even exists.
